Description:
For Khaled Sabsabi, it is in art that we find spaces that inspire and define us as a society, a constant movement towards pushing limits and challenging perceptions of who and what we are.
Unseen will go deep into these fringes, where true discourse begins as to consider ideas that may enlighten our understanding of universal dynamics, which is far more complex and ultimately, more inconceivable than our physical selves.
Unseen examines complexities between emotions of the inner Self and the outer representational Self. In an attempt to question ideological principles and identity of the ‘other’ in this time and space.
Khaled presents an immersive artwork utilising the evocative scents of coffee, which covers the floor of the Gallery, amidst a series of portraits that are anonymised and veiled through the addition of a layer of coffee wash.
